Scott Assenmacher Honored as the 2024 ARRA Richard E. Lowell President’s Award Recipient

GLEN ELLYN, IL, March 18, 2024 – During the 49th Annual Meeting of the Asphalt Recycling & Reclaiming Association (ARRA), February 19-23, 2024, in Palm Harbor, FL, ARRA honored the Scott Assenmacher* for his lengthy and extensive service to ARRA and the recycling and reclaiming industry by naming him as the recipient of the 2024 Richard E. Lowell President’s Award.

Each year, the Richard E. Lowell President’s Award is presented to an individual who has, through long term involvement, worked to advance the goals of the Asphalt Recycling & Reclaiming Association and to promote the growth and technological advances of the industry. 

ARRA President Jason Wielinski stated, “Scott Assenmacher was a passionate believer and advocate of ARRA’s technologies.  He led efforts both as an agency champion during his time at the Monroe County Road Commission and as an industry leader during his time with Asphalt Materials, Inc.   His role and support in the early development of RoadResource and Roadvocate training endures as critical component to both projects and remains extremely valuable to all of us as we educate others on the benefits and performance of pavement recycling technologies.”

*Scott passed away in January 2023 after a hard-fought battle with cancer.

ABOUT THE ASPHALT RECYCLING & RECLAIMING ASSOCIATION (ARRA):

Incorporated in September 1976, ARRA’s primary function has been to promote the recycling of existing roadway materials through various construction methodologies, to preserve limited natural resources and reduce costs. This ongoing effort continues through education, strategic alliances and partnering at both the industry and agency level.

ARRA is a founding member of the Pavement Preservation & Recycling Alliance along with the Asphalt Emulsion Manufacturers Association and the International Slurry Surfacing Association. PPRA is a partnership of leading industry associations (AEMA, ARRA, ISSA) to advance sustainable, eco efficient, and innovative pavement applications.
