ARRA: 2022 Year End Message from ARRA President Kim Stokes
Wednesday, December 7, 2022
ARRA is pleased to continue support the Pavement Preservation Recycling Alliance (PPRA). PPRA is a joint venture with AEMA, ARRA, and ISSA to develop and maintain the website RoadResource.org. This is a great benefit of our members, customers, and industry influencers that highlights our mantra, “The right treatment, at the right place, at the right time”. If you have not visited www.RoadResource.org, please take the time to look through the site and you will discover how it can be a benefit to your organization. Lindsay Matush and her team at Vario has done a masterful job putting this project together for your benefit and use. ARRA is in the planning stages of developing Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) for our industry. This will require a significant investment from ARRA but will put ARRA members to the forefront of acquiring projects as more agencies and customers will be requiring EPD statements as part of their bid processes. This system will highlight the carbon reduction savings utilized in ARRA’s processes over conventional construction practices. This will increase construction recycling market share expediently. The ARRA Pavement Recycling Summit held in Niagara Falls, Canada was well attended and exceeded budget expectations. The program was professionally presented with great informative, relevant speakers capped off with social activities for all the attendees. Rick, Ali, and Tessa made sure the meetings were top shelf and accommodating to all the attendees. We are fortunate to have a professional management team to keep our Association performing at a high level. If you missed the 2022 Summit, please make plans to attend in 2023 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Plans are underway for the joint ARRA-AEMA-ISSA Annual meeting in Litchfield, Arizona, February 27 thru March 3, 2023. This promises to be a great meeting with the annual awards presentations, joint sessions, technical sessions, group social events, and a golf outing scheduled for March 3. We look forward to seeing you in Arizona. After a year associated with high inflationary operating costs, labor shortages, and supply chain issues preceded by two years of Covid pandemic, your Board of Directors continues to add value to your ARRA membership. On behalf of your Board of Directors, we hope 2022 was a safe and successful year. If we can ever be of any assistance or if you have any questions about your organization, please do not hesitate to reach out to me or any other member of the Board of Directors. May you enjoy a safe Holiday Season with your families and all the best for the New Year. Merry Christmas! Kimbel Stokes President
