A Letter From President Jonathan Pease

Hello Fellow ARRA Members

Wow, what a year it has been for us all!  We just had our first, and hopefully only, virtual Annual meeting that was a great event all around.  Despite the virtual aspect, the event had great speakers, content and interaction in the breakout rooms.  The one good thing we can’t complain about - the weather!  I have a sneaking suspicion that next year's in-person (I assume) Annual Meeting will be a record attendance as we all are chomping at the bit to socialize.

Over the next year or two, the board has an aggressive agenda, focused on working to strengthen our association in various ways.  If you ever want to get involved by joining a committee or task force of sorts, please let us know as like most associations, they are member driven with great back end support like CM Services gives us.  Here are the key initiatives we are working on:

• Engage ARRA Members to Create Value for Their Companies and the Industry
• Be the Education and Innovation Leader in the Recycling and Reclaiming Industry
• Be the go-to Resource for Agencies/Contractors Regarding Recycling and Reclaiming

Some changes coming to the board & committees include a more regular meeting schedule.  We know this will help deliver more member value and progression in achieving the goals we have set out.  We still will have our (I hope in-person) Board Meeting in June, at the Semi & Annual Meetings, and also at least one meeting in between. 

As you can tell, even though we are in a strong financial position with the association, we don’t have professional speech writers like the President of the United States, so your stuck with me in that department.  Ali will be making a pass over to this letter, so if it sounds good it was her for sure! With that said, I’m honored and excited to be ARRA’s president for the next two years, and I hope I can live up to my predecessors in this role.  If you have any ideas, comments or suggestions to make ARRA even stronger please reach out to me. I also want to wish you a “rock solid” work season and for the new normal to leave us as fast as it can.  I’m looking forward to seeing everyone in the beautiful Charleston, SC at the Semi-Annual Meeting Oct 4^th-7^th, so mark your calendars.
