A Letter From President Eric Baker
Monday, March 2, 2020
Hello fellow members of this wonderful association!
I hope everyone had a wonderful time in San Antonio even though the weather did not completely cooperate for us. Even with the chilly weather, we still had near record attendance and some great engagement in our sessions and especially our Technical Subcommittee Meetings. If you haven’t attended one of these meetings, they are open to everyone and it is a great place to roll up your sleeves and get involved! I would like to thank Ali Mostardo and Rick Church for putting on such a great meeting. They continue to make us look good, myself especially!
Some key focus areas for us all coming out of the Annual meeting are sustainability and to develop Environmental Product Declarations as well as to continue to grow RoadResource.org. This year will be when we really step on the accelerator regarding promotion of RoadResource.org and we are already starting to see the benefits. Word is getting out but we all need to be evangelists for our processes and industry as a whole. Word of mouth is the strongest form of marketing.
The ARRA board will be getting together as usual in June for our summer board meeting along with our sister organizations. At that board meeting, we will be developing a new strategic plan for the next 3 years. One of our initiatives from the last strategic plan was to be more engaged with our members and gather feedback. So in that vein, I am now soliciting your feedback and input on what you think ARRA should focus on for the next 3 years. Please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org or call me at 423-785-7184 if you have ideas to improve our association.
It is my pleasure to serve as president of such a great organization. I wish you all a very prosperous work season and look forward to seeing everyone in Charleston, South Carolina, October 26th – 29th for our Semi-Annual meeting. Put it in your calendar now! Charleston is a beautiful city and the content will not disappoint!
At your service,
