Keynote Speaker:
Sue Dyer, President, OrgMetrics, LLC 
With a background facilitating the partnering between contractors, design/engineering firms, and the large joint venture projects at San Francisco International Airport, Sue Dyer will keynote the meeting speaking to collaboration and trust leadership.

Dyer founded OrgMetrics, LLC in 1986 as a partnering facilitation firm dedicated to helping construction organizations and project teams develop collaborative cultures. Sue has become the thought leader on collaboration in construction. Sue has worked for almost 30 years to perfect the model for Collaborative Partnering. In 2009, Sue founded the International Partnering Institute; the industry’s only non-profit focused on researching and sharing best practices for Collaborative Partnering.

Recycling Keynote: Jon A. Epps, PhD, PE, Executive Associate Director, Texas A&M Transportation Institute
Epps will speak on "Innovative Asphalt Pavement Technology: Paving the Way for the World's Roadways." Dr. Epps' experience includes 32 years in leadership positions in the academic sector at both Texas A&M University and the University of Nevada, Reno. He spent 10 years in the private sector as Engineering Services Manager for Granite Construction, Inc. His academic research efforts have lead to significant advancements, as well as new and updated standards in the field of pavements and materials. He has served in leadership roles in numerous state and national professional organizations and at the Transportation Research Board.  He received his bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees from the University of California at Berkeley and is a licensed professional engineer in the state of Texas.

Mike Robinson, PE, Owner, Mike Robinson LLC
Speaking on "The Real Value of VALUE Engineering," Robinson has more than 30 year's experience across the country in the heavy civil industry, working for a large state agency, as a contractor and materials producer, and as a consultant.  His primary focus is flexible pavements and aggregate materials including pavement design, quality management, troubleshooting, maintenance and rehabilitation techniques, constructability reviews and value engineering, and construction claims support.  He's a graduate of the University of Wyoming and is active in local and national pavement and industry associations, in TRB standing committees, and is a member of the Association of Asphalt Paving Technologists.  He is a registered Civil Engineer in Wyoming, Nevada, California, and Arizona.

Dr. Andrew Braham, Associate Professor, University of Arkansas
Speaking on "RoadResource.org: Let's Scratch Below the Surface & Educate for our Future," Dr. Andrew Braham graduated from the University of Wisconsin with his B.S. and M.S., and from the University of Illinois with his Ph.D. He worked with Koch Materials Company for two and a half years, and performed a post-doc at Southeast University in Nanjing, China.  He is currently an Associate Professor in the Civil Engineering Department at the University of Arkansas, where his teaching and research focus is on asphalt emulsions, pavement maintenance and rehabilitation, and sustainability.
Dan Patenaude, PE, Sales & Marketing Manager, indus
Speaking on "RoadResource.org: A Day in the Life of a Super User," Dan Patenaude is a licensed professional engineer with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the University of Vermont. After spending the first eleven years of his career in construction management and commercial real estate development, Dan joined the public sector and became the Public Works Director for the Town of Wallkill, NY, where he learned about and gained a passion for pavement management.  Ater 10 years there, Dan rejoined the private sector in 2002, and is currently the Sales & Marketing Manager for indus based in Braintree, MA, where he and his team promote pavement preservation throughout New England and downstate New York.

Alan Carter, Professor, École de Technologie Supérieure  

Alan Carter, speaking on "Ongoing Research on Cold Recycled Materials," is a Professor in the Construction Engineering Department at École de Technologie Supérieure (ETS) in Montreal, where he’s responsible of the Pavement and Bituminous Materials Laboratory. Professor Carter’s research focuses mainly on cold recycling of bituminous materials, thermorheological characterization of bituminous materials, surface treatment and mechanistic-empirical pavement design. An active member of several international scientific organizations like ISAP (Director at large) and RILEM (Deputy Chair of RILEM Technical Committee 280-CBE “Multiphase characterisation of cold bitumen emulsion materials”, and secretary of the task group TG1 on cold recycling of the TC RAP), Professor Carter is also an associate editor for the Canadian Journal of Civil Engineering and a member of the editorial board of the Road Materials and Pavement Design journal.

Allen King, Senior Transportation Engineer, Caltrans

Speaking with Don Matthews, Pavement Recycling Systems on "Smoothness in ARRA Processes" Allen King is a Senior Transportation Engineer with Caltrans leading the Recycling Branch within the Office of Asphalt Pavements specializing in asphalt smoothness and in-place recycling strategies. He has been with Caltrans for 11 years and has worked in Construction, METS, Design, and most recently the Pavement Program which provides technical guidance to the 12 Caltrans Districts on how to design, maintain, and construct paved roads.

Don Matthews, Technical Manager and Chief Engineer, Pavement Recycling Systems, Inc.
Joining King in speaking on "Smoothness in ARRA Processes" Matthews is technical manager and chief engineer for Pavement Recycling Systems, Inc. He focuses on the development of recycled products in pavement preservation, rehabilitation, automated machine guidance and other intelligent construction technologies. He received his Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Cal Poly Pomona and his Master's from Cal State Long Beach. He is a registered Engineer in the states of California and Arizona.
Jean-Martin Croteau, PE, Technical Director, Colas Canada
Delivering the presentation "If it Ain't Broke, Fix it Anyway: The Importance of Continuous Improvement," Jean-Martin Croteau is a graduated civil engineer from the Royal Military College of Canada, Kingston, Ontario.  Croteau started his career as a project engineer in the Canadian Armed Forces. Upon completion of his military service, he joined the Quebec Road Builders' Association as Technical Director.  In the mid-90's, he started working with Miller Paving Ltd. as an Operational Manager and then as Technical Director. In 2007, he joined Works Alberta, a subsidiary of Colas Canada Inc. as Manager, Quality Systems & Technical Development. He now works for Colas Canada Inc. in Toronto as Technical Director.
Nick Cosenza, Senior Pavement Design Engineer, Indiana Department of Transportation 
Speaking with Zach Robinson, Heritage Research Group, on "CCPR - A View into our Future: An ARRA Award Winning Project (FDR too!)," Cosenza is a Senior Pavement Design Engineer with INDOT. His responsibilities include completing pavement designs for roads maintained by INDOT as well as assisting department staff in the design, construction, maintenance, and rehabilitation of pavements.  Cosenza has been with INDOT for three years. 
Zach Robinson, Project Engineer, Heritage Research Group
Speaking with Nick Cosenza, Zach Robinson is a Project Engineer with Heritage Research Group in Indianapolis, IN, where he started in 2013 as a student intern.  Upon graduation from Indiana University-Purdue University of Indianapolis with a Bachelor's Degree in mechanical engineering he joined HRG full time in 2016. 
Mike Voth, Pavement and Materials Discipline Leader, FHWA Federal Lands Highway Division
Speaking on "Use, Experience, and Performance of In-Place Recycling," Mike Voth has more than 28 years experience working in the highway industry.  Voth leads a staff that is responsible for the overall pavement and materials program including the development of standard specifications for construction and materials, pavement design procedures and policies, and materials quality assurance. He and his staff are also responsible for conducting training, managing local studies, and technology deployment. Voth received his Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Washington University in St. Louis and a Masters in civil engineering from the University of Kansas.  He lives and works in Colorado.
Mike Smith, Safety Manager, Pavement Recycling Systems
Speaking on "Culture Based Safety: A Step to Zero," Mike Smith has been with Pavement Recycling Systems for 23 years.  Beginning as an Operating Engineer in 1981, Smith was involved in road construction, and highway milling and paving. In 2001, Smith became Branch Manager and after 15 years in that role moved into his current role as Safety Manager in 2016.
Dennis McElroy, FMG Division Manager - Cold In-Place Recycling & Asphalt Milling, Graniterock dba FMG
Providing an overview of the A.R. Wilson Quarry Tour,  Dennis McElroy started as an asphalt milling operator for FMG in 2011. His team have worked with more than 40 public works agencies to adopt foamed asphalt CIR technology into their pavement maintenance programs, resulting in the improved smoothness and durability of 500+ lane miles throughout Northern California. As FMG Division Manager for Graniterock's CIR and asphalt milling business, McElroy is a member of Caltrans' Pavement and Materials Partnering Committee and other pavement industry associations.  His focus is value engineering support, facilitating adoption of pavement recycling techniques and constructability reviews.
Tom Chastain, Milling Product Manager, Wirtgen America
Speaking on "Automatic Milling Performance Measurement," Tom Chastain has been in the milling industry for 26 years. Chastain has done many projects and trainings on four different continents and is currently responsible for operational training on milling machines for demonstration purposes, operation and safety training for contractors along with municipalities and local union halls.  Chastain is the former chair for the ARRA Cold Planing Committee and has his B.S. from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

Dann Rawls, Business Development Manager - eRoutes, Caterpillar
Dann Rawls has been working in the paving/heavy construction industry for 17 years on a variety of projects ranging from small to large federal government-based highway and airports projects.  He has been with Caterpillar for 12 years as a paving and compaction jobsite consultant/trainer for Cat customers globally, Cat COMPACT for Landfill Compactors subject matter expert, and current Business Development Manager for the Cat eRoutes product.
Jorge Campos, Research and Development Department Director, Pavement Recycling Systems, Inc.
Delivering a presentation on the benefits of supplemental compaction, Jorge Campos is the director of R&D at Pavement Recycling Systems, Inc.  He is committed to the research of new ways to improve the performance of asphalt recycled materials and on the development of automated systems that are used daily in the company's projects. Most recently, Campos led the development of a new prototype to process thin-lift in-place technology for the company, which was awarded a patent. He has a degree in Industrial Engineering from the Technological Institute in Mexico.
John Harvey, PE, Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of California-Davis
With a presentation on "Sustainability Matters-It's Not Just a BUZZ word," John Harvey is Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of California-Davis, Director of the UC Pavement Research Center, and Director of the newly created City and County Pavement Improvement Center (CCPIC, a consortium of cities, counties, UC and California State University). He is Principal Investigator for projects for research, development and implementation for a wide range of pavement technology, pavement management, cost and environmental topics for Caltrans, FHWA, FAA, CalRecycle, the California Air Resources Board, the Transportation Research Board, other state DOTs, and industry.  He is a professional civil engineer in California.
Don Greb, PE, Principal Engineer, Griffin Soils Group

With a presentation on "A Better Design: FDR and Soil Stabilization with Cement - Predictable & Economical," Don Greb is the Principal Engineer at Griffin Soil Group. He is a licensed civil engineer and contractor who has been involved in transportation and infrastructure design and construction projects for over 30 years. Over the last 15 years, he has worked exclusively on soil stabilization design and construction applications.
